 A mouse. It's been years since I photographed a dead animal. I found it on the pavement and moved it to a ledge because a cat was on the prowl nearby, although i've no idea why I deprived the cat of a View fullsize
 With Klaas Dierks who, incidentally, was the official photographer at Hamburg. This was handy because it meant i could finally nab the Hamburg pictures which he had with him on his laptop. He was atte View fullsize
 With Selma Vilhunen, a giggly Finnish director. I like this picture because it makes me look like i'm funny and excellent or something. View fullsize
 Typical ignorant British bloke who only speaks one language deploys old chestnut of telling the jury that he loves them in German (thankfully people laughed because otherwise it would have been shit). View fullsize

 That’s Martin Rit up front, director of the superb French short 'The Guitar Lesson', one of my favourite shorts ever. This had to be the most deserved Best Music award for a short film ever, ever, ever. I've had it in my head for the last six weeks View fullsize
 The hotel was only two weeks old, meaning my bed was quite possibly a virgin. Look at that sky! View fullsize

 Toni Mikkola from Tampere Film festival in Finland. We found a little cave in the garden of a house where festival guests were invited for lunch and it seemed like nature's perfect smoking room. There were even stalagmites that seemed like novelty a View fullsize
 This house looked like it had been wallpapered on the outside and for some reason I thought it was worth a picture. View fullsize

 The beach, which I visited for a total of thirty minutes despite it being a mere twenty-minute walk away. Not sure why. It's too weird when a festival starts behaving like a holiday. Freaks me out a bit. View fullsize
